In October 2022, the United Nations Security Council established a sanctions regime against Haiti by adopting resolution 2653. The sanctions regime provides the authority for the imposition of asset-freezing sanctions as well as travel bans and introduces arms embargo.
The EU sanctions regime against Haiti is based on "COUNCIL DECISION 94/315/CFSP of 30 May 1994 concerning the common position defined on the basis of Article J.2 of the Treaty on European Union regarding the reduction of economic relations with Haiti ."
It is a very limited sanction regime with the following restrictive measure:
Prohibition on certain claim satisfaction
There is no U.S. sanction program against Haiti.
